Laser Pointer: Instruction Manual

Read this manual before use. The laser pointer belongs to the cat who runs the button pawn shop on the corner of the pond. The cat will not sell it. The cat will only lend it, and only for one afternoon.

Open from the north side: Step one

Hold the pointer at the height of a button sitting on the counter. Do not point it at the bowl of stars. The bowl of stars is not for pointing.

Open from the east side: Step two

Wait for the chair to finish rocking. It rocks by itself, slowly, forever. You may count its rocks. The cat has counted them. The count is not finished.

Open from the south side: Step three

Click a button to appraise it. The cat will offer you one button for every cat you have ever owned. If you have never owned a cat, the cat will offer you a kitten.

Open from the west side: Step four

Chase the red dot until it becomes a star. Stars are not sold here. They are eaten here, one at a time, by the cat, who has a bowl of them and intends to finish them all.

Dream rule: every object is only as large as the last cat who looked at it. Click any object below to be looked at.

The bowl of stars

The cat has one bowl. The bowl has nine stars. The cat has eaten 0 of them. Eat one.

Cat facts, which are true

A cat sleeps for about twelve to sixteen hours a day. Cats cannot taste sweetness. Cats have a third eyelid, which slides sideways across the eye. Each ear of a cat has about thirty-two muscles, which lets it turn each ear independently.
